President’s Note

The South Australian Dairyfarmers' Association (SADA) is the peak body for South Australian dairy farmers, with dairy farmer members and their issues being our focus. Through the SADA, dairy farmers have a strong voice locally in South Australia and also nationally with SADA's membership of Australian Dairy Farmers Ltd and their affiliation with the National Farmers Federation.

The South Australian dairy industry is one of South Australia's major agricultural industries. Dairy products are sold locally in South Australia as well as interstate and exported overseas. Dairy is now Australia's third largest agricultural industry, with South Australia producing nearly 10% of Australia's total milk production.

The SADA represents dairy farmers on a range of issues to state and local government, the dairy industry and the wider community. The SADA provides dairy farmers with a voice on issues as diverse as electricity pricing, animal health and natural resource management.

As a member-based organisation, the SADA maintains a vibrant network of regional branches setting the policy agenda for the dairy industry in South Australia. SADA membership keeps members in touch with their local dairy community and up-to-date on the most important issues facing the industry and their farm businesses.

SADA has a proud record of working constructively with government and dairy industry organisations to achieve positive outcomes for all dairy farmers, including assisting farmers with seasonal variation, advocacy on animal welfare and a variety of farm business issues. Today, our members continue to work towards the vision of making dairying efficient, clever, innovative and sustainable.
